CHWY [Chewy] is the Next LION [Lionsgate] and Here is Why...

2026-05-20T02:33:51+00:00

Here we go, again... after moving on from LION - I have picked my next 12-month forecast stock. Chewy. $CHWY - the only negative is it was founded by Ryan Cohen, the rest is a positive story. 80% recurring revenue, essentially no debt, net cash position, 12 billion in annual sales (80% of which are auto-ship) - expansion into pet care, etc. The stock dropped 10% today on news that the CEO said the 'consumers' are stretched. What are you going to do, let your pet die? Boil chicken that is about to expire to offset the cost of kibble? They still need food, treats, toys, medication & more! Chewy revenue is more recurring than buying hand made goods on $ETSY - and their selection is still way more robust than Amazon $AMZN and fairly priced. You really don't have other options in the current market, going to Petco is if you forgot to order a one-off item, and you're paying a premium for almost everything over Chewy. Gen Z loves their dogs over expansion of population with human legs - I don't see this company fairly valued and believe it should be a $14-18 billion E/V based purely on efficiencies they can create integration AI and pet care. Their active shopping base is huge. My position is 500 6-month contracts & 50,000 shares. I know this post is a bit sarcastic, but the point is, at its core, a bit unique compared to other 'discretionary' marketplaces - your pet is not discretionary. submitted by /u/HunterMichael92 [link] [comments]

ETSY Traffic Falling Fast

2026-04-21T14:08:43+00:00

Continuing on the latter post regarding ETSY short, and their constant buy backs, their overall site traffic is down over 18% according to similarweb, and site sellers across REDDIT complaining about major sales drops in the past 6 months. We are now short 30% of our portfolio. This company is over-valued to the gills based on P/E sales declines and ever further squeeze on sellers in terms of fees. submitted by /u/HunterMichael92 [link] [comments]

Increased Short/Put - ETSY Inc.

2026-04-20T03:21:51+00:00

ETSY is a decaying shell of its' former self. Bogged down by overpriced acquisitions, sold off for losses, the same acquisitions that drove the largest segment for growth the last few quarters (Depop), left with once again, the core marketplace. In the same time that ETSY executives were overpaying for acquisitions, they were also paying themselves hundreds of millions in compensation (Josh Silverman paid over $120 million in a single year), for keeping the lights on for the company. Innovation has fallen greatly the past couple years, SEO ranking and more has become cloudy, and the marketplace itself has lost it's major appeal after forcing sellers to pay for placement, increased fees, and high take-rates. With a negative growth rate, increase share buybacks (while executive compensation remains), and throwing FCF basically internally, there is not much left of a story here. We have a board rewarding executives with the same shares the company buys back, and in the long term, the net effect will be wasted profits to artificially prop up a stock to unreasonable levels purchased by the company at levels that should never had been bought. ETSY is no where near the size to be spending insane amounts $700m+ on buy-backs in a time where AI and marketplace development is KEY. I would imagine the next 4 quarters have the stock price/enterprise value fall to the $30-35/share range, at which point ETSY itself will become an acquisition target. Their growth does not justify their current P/E levels, and their mission to integrate AI remains a flat topic. Price Target: $30-35/share I/We have a short position combined with 6 month PUTS at this time. submitted by /u/HunterMichael92 [link] [comments]

Etsy Demise - Put and Short - Continuing Downfall

2026-04-13T01:17:46+00:00

After my last post regarding Etsy, and one prior when we were in the $75 range.... ETSY continues its materially weak business model into an era of irrelevance. In order to keep up their post-covid figures, they have allowed thousands of drop-shippers and overseas mass market products to infiltrate the once great platform. It's a coin-toss if you're getting a homemade seller or just another cheaply made product. Their sales figures have declined QoQ for a while now, and their growth businesses (Depop) was sold off at a loss but for cash, which will allow a fake floor to be set in the stock as continued block buybacks occur every time retail gives up. Once corporate is done buying back this company's shares, I expect to see a 25-30% EV value haircut, along with an insane current P/E of 37+. Depop was their fastest growing segment and it still sold for a loss. Add back Etsy's debt and we a far way from the real value of this company. Pricing it out, $35/share at best in my current opinion. I am short 30,000 shares. And let it be known I'm posting this after Etsy has dropped so it's not a "help move the stock" post. Do your own diligence and I welcome all feedback. submitted by /u/HunterMichael92 [link] [comments]

ETSY Stock - Extremely Undervalued

2026-03-30T12:01:47+00:00

ETSY continues to sell off into the IRAN news, and yet is one of the few tech companies with a high FCF and impressive level of share buybacks as of late. They are well above their 2019 revenue levels, and trading at the same EV as 7 years ago. With the $1.2 bn infusion from DePop, it allows them to buy down debt, some shares, and re-invest into their core business. They rightsized their staff and continue to improve on GP. While I see some near-term headwinds, they have not had a negative quarter in YEARS - when removing write-downs from past investments. Accounting for debt, I believe Etsy should trade at an enterprise value of approximately $62.50 per share at this time for relative P/E and future growth after IRAN ends. submitted by /u/HunterMichael92 [link] [comments]
